I recently purchased this SLR with standard lens through Amazon, and have been massively disappointed. I previously owned a Powershot A540, and this SLR is no better than it, for five or six times the money.

1)The camera will regularly not take pictures. Despite the fact that the subject is in focus, the shutter will not release. You press the shutter button, and nothing happens. You press it again, nothing happens, etc. At times, the camera will simply not function.

2) The delay between pictures is ridiculous. The delay on the point and shoot camera was already bad enough. But it's worse on this SLR. It regularly says it is busy and won't do anything. I miss all kinds of pictures waiting for this camera to let me take another picture again.

3) The image stabilization system is a joke. I have just as many blurry pictures on this camera as the point and shoot.

4) The 9-point automatic focus sytem is also useless. This camera is just as bad as the point and shoot at focusing on only one thing and leaving everything else out of focus.

5) This camera will not take closeup pictures. The closeup setting on this camera is meaningless. I can take pictures closer to the subject with my point and shoot than with this camera.

6) The continuous shooting feature of this camera is worthless. Why is it that it only works on the Portrait mode? What good is that? Why not just admit you don't have a continuous shooting feature?

7) Unlike other SLR's, you have to look through the viewfinder to frame a shot, because the LCD screen does not show you what you are shooting. While the LCD may not be a completely accurate depiction of the picture being taken, in most cases it is a sufficient and convenient guide, rather than having to squint throug a small viewfinder.

I have increasingly come to the conclusion that Canon is an inferior camera manufacturer. I only wish I had known that before I spent over $700 on this piece of junk.

Hello everyone! Well I got the Canon XSI the other day and i wanted to let you all know how the live view work. Not good!!! Let me explain how it works and why it will not work underwater.

1.You Have two choices in Auto Focus in Live View.

Quick View: Samples a Focus points

Live View: Samples in center

Both are slow.

2.When you think how live view should work it doesn’t. You would think to focus you would press the Shutter botton down 1/2 way and it would Focus. Well in Live view it doesn’t. Strange? How you do it is.You press the AE Lock Botton. Then after it focuses you press the Shutter Botton. The biggest problem it take 1 to3 Sec. just to Focus. Good by fish!!! Man i had high hopes for this camera but i am going to send it back. If someone else has seen a better way of doing this let us know. But i don’t think so. Man this camera Sucks!!!!!

It’s very sturdy and a great buy, but I wish I would have read the reviews before buying. No shoulder strap! Only a very small strap on the side meant to carry by hand. How inconvenient.

my old camera was getting worn out. i knew i had to look for a new one, but wasn’t sure about digital ones. i was afraid that i would need a DVD burner to make DVDs and did not want to store all the videos on my hard drive, because i could lose them any time (you never know when a virus may strike). anyway, i almost lost hope, thinking that vhs cameras are long in the past. luckily, i was wrong. i love this camera! it’s very convenient. it has a great screen, so you see what your taping, and you can flip it over to tape yourself! neat!!! i would definitely recommend this product to people like me, who like some things old-fashioned way!

when i first saw the picture i thought it had a shoulder strap but it only has one side strap. But even this is excellent it protects my laptop greatly!

I bought this recorder for a gift (used). It has no volume on it, so I am seriously disappointed…it was DAMAGED and I am sure the person who sold it to me knew this. I am very very very unhappy.

Bought for my wife to mainly watch Bluebirds. She like the size, quality and ease of use. The price was good for the fine quality of the binoculars.

I love this little camcorder. It’s easy to use and very portable. The picture quality is perfect, given good lighting conditions and the sound quality is outstanding. Why even bother with a digital camera when this little beauty does everything better and costs hundreds less.

The lens works great. For its price the results are very good. A little difficult to remove the cover every time, just a minor detail.
